Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with learners with complex physical, sensory and behavioural needs. Ideally, someone with experience working in school settings is favoured, however, new graduates can apply. We provide education for students aged 5 to 21 years with intellectual and associated challenges; all of whom are ORS funded. Our students are educated at our base school and satellite sites.

CASS provides support, mentoring and professional development. The successful applicant will be part of a highly effective and collaborative team, consisting of Occupational Therapists, Speech and language Therapists Physiotherapists, Teachers and Learning Assistants.

Kaiārahi i te Reo, Therapists’, ATSSD and Special Education Assistants’ Collective Agreement applies to this position and salary is commensurate with qualification and experience. With the settlement of the Therapists Pay Equity claim, salary will be adjusted in accordingly, in the latter part of this year.

The ideal applicant will:

  • Have a current practising certificate issued by the OT Board of NZ
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • A current driver’s license and vehicle.

Physiotherapist

We are seeking a part time Physiotherapist with a passion for working with learners with complex physical, sensory and behavioural needs. We are open to negotiations on the days of work. Ideally, someone with experience working in a school setting is favoured, however, new graduates can apply. We provide education for students aged 5 to 21 years with physical, intellectual and associated challenges; all of whom are ORS funded. Our students are educated at our base school and satellite sites.

Scale A Teachers

Due to rapid roll growth, we have a number of positions to fill across our school. 

We seek creative, passionate and innovative teachers, who can inspire and engage neurodiverse ORS funded students in learning opportunities that will enable them to reach their potential. 

Special education experience is desirable but not essential, but a passion for working with learners with additional needs is, along with a sense of fun, creativity and commitment to learning.  

We are seeking: 

A confident and creative teacher to lead the learning for a small group of young adults at our Base school site. The ability to provide a programme that is active and engaging for students that have a passion for nature, art, music and the outdoors would be ideal.  

An arts teacher to join the enrichment team, providing CRT across the school. You will have a flare for music, art, dance or drama and enjoy being innovative and flexible. 

A new entrant teacher to lead the learning for Takiwatanga (Autistic) students. Would, suit a primary or ECE trained teacher that can provide a structured programme that incorporates play / sensory based learning opportunities.
